[open-linguistics] Future home of Open Linguistics [IMPORTANT]

Dear Jorge,

no information about long-term maintenance, but I guess they wouldn't have
suggested that without such plans.

All we know is

"If you would like to switch the discussion to our forums at
https://discuss.okfn.org, let us know and we can help you to set up a
dedicated category. This platform helps keep things open and allows the
whole network to follow along, participate, and stay informed. If you like,
we could start a new forum category for the topic of your mailing list to
continue the discussion there."

So, all contributions would go into the general forum, you could filter for
the category if you're interested in open linguistics. We can apparently
also get a direct link to an overview page for the category. The Open
Science WG did that: https://discuss.okfn.org/c/working-groups/open-science.
For a registered user, it is possible to configure that this basically acts
like a mailing list (you need to enable "Emails/Mailing list mode" and add
the category under "Notifications/Categories/Watched"), but this needs to
be configured on an individual basis (by every user).

What I'm most concerned here about is that since 2013, we tended to talk
more about *linked* (open) data in/for linguistics (etc.) than about *open*
data in/for linguistics (I have no objections against changing that back,
the topic was just appealing to many participants), and with that scope,
we're quite far away from what other forum categories are about.

Best,
Christian
