Tervehdys OKFF avoimen tieteen listalle.
Kv. liikkeen avointiede-koordinaattori Jenny Molloy kyselee kustakin maasta
halukasta Open Science Ambassadorin rooliin.
omalla aktiivisuudellaan haluaa panostaa. Jos joku olisi kiinnostunut
Suomen Open Science Ambassadorin roolista niin pistäkääpä viestiä ja
katsotaan asiaa lisää.

Hello All
Firstly, thank you ever for much for your hard work in 2014 organising
local open science communities. Some of you have had much contact with the
global open science working group and others of you have just been getting
on with your own thing. Some of you are in the planning stages for a local
group and others have developed a really strong and active community
already. Several of you have no current formal ties to Open Knowledge, but
we've all been in touch at some point or another and we're all working for
a common goal so I hope you won't find it forward or me to consider you all
primary contacts of the working group in your local areas :)
As per the email copied below, Graham and I are trying to establish as Open
Science Ambassador scheme and would like to offer the first positions to
those who are already actively coordinating community locally. We'd like to
ask if this is something you'd be interested in?
The idea is that this is an annual position whose holder is the main point
of contact for the working group and Open Knowledge international community
regarding open science policy and projects in their country. You'll have
the title of 'Open Science Ambassador', access to a diverse network of
contacts throughout Open Knowledge and support within the Ambassador group.
You will also have the opportunity to take up speaking opportunities and
other high profile engagements channelled through Open Knowledge. We
realise you've already got most of this except the title, but we'd be
delighted if you'd take that as well!
If you're interested (and there is no obligation), we'd be really grateful
if you could fill in some details on the application form, even though the
position would be automatic.

The Ambassador role is intended as an additional role to local group
coordinator, so after the year you can reapply or continue as you were
before and someone else will take on the role. It is definitely not
designed to create a tiered system and we expect that all ambassadors will
be active within their local group.
Do let Graham and I know if you'd be keen and we'd *really* appreciate your
feedback on expanding the local groups and the Ambassador scheme. Are there
other things the open science working group should try to offer? I am
already very close (hopefully) to getting a community grant funding scheme
off the ground which will help local groups run events and support projects
with modest amounts of money.
With very best wishes
Jenny and Graham
