Dear All
Just a reminder about Monday's meeting at OeRC, see below for the general
advert that has gone out to mailing lists and a list of speakers. If you
have suggestions for people to speak at the May event (date TBC) please let
me know. Self nomination (aka volunteering) is entirely welcomed.
I look forward to seeing some of you on Monday
Jenny
Oxford Open Science

TIme: 7pm-8:30pm (followed by the pub)
Venue: OeRC, Keble Road (http://www.oerc.ox.ac.uk/about/how-to-find-us)
Open science is big news, with the ‘Academic Spring’ movement gathering
pace and recent pushes for open access and open data from RCUK , the
Wellcome Trust and a growing tide of researchers and librarians, now is the
time to engage with the discussion that is shaping thefuture of science.
Join us for our second meetup with short talks on projects in Oxford and
further afield, followed by informal discussion:
- Eamonn Maguire from biosharing.org on how to share your data effectively.
- Diane Cabell on legal barriers to data sharing in the biosciences.
- Peter Murray-Rust on how text and data mining could revolutionise science.
- Sophie Kershaw on graduate training for open science.
OOS is a group for anyone interested in open science projects with a focus
