Very interesting! ;-)

**Apologies for Cross-Posting!**

The Science, Technology and Medicine team at the British Library are
piloting our new ‘Search Our Catalogue’ tool as a way to help
researchers discover datasets. Search Our Catalogue (SoC) brings
together the wealth of the Library's content into a single search. To
explore researcher needs for finding research datasets, we are
enabling the discovery and display of information about them in SoC.
This is one of our first experiments with signposting users to content
not held by us but accessed elsewhere on the internet.

For this pilot, we have selected a trial collection of datasets on the
theme of environmental change, specifically:
 -  observations of climate, weather, the atmosphere and oceans
 -  air quality and emissions into the atmosphere
 -  renewable energy

As we are in the early stages of developing this service, we would
value your thoughts to help us improve it, especially if you have
comments on the metadata given for data records. Please visit the
science web page  http://www.bl.uk/science  and follow the link to
find out more. We would encourage anyone with an interest in
environmental datasets to visit  http://searchbeta.bl.uk  to see what
they can find.

Please email your comments and questions to us at science at bl.uk.

Many thanks,
Rachael Kotarski
