Peter,

I've quickly transcoded the WMV horror into some better-supported
formats. Feel free to link to them from your blog:

The first is H.264 with AAC audio (nonfree but widely supported, and
works on iDevices). The latter is Ogg Theora with Vorbis audio (free
but no matter what I do Theora video sucks).

P.S. On a side note, if anyone knows how to make Theora not suck (i.e.
are there options I'm missing in ffmpeg?) I'd be interested to hear
from them.
