Dear all,
A quick announcement about a new open data initiative and partnership at
BioMed Central. BMC has partnered with LabArchives
<http://www.labarchives.com/> to work together for the shared goal of
making datasets supporting peer-reviewed publications available and
permanently linked to online publications - and available under terms
which permit reuse freely, as Open Data.
As part of this partnership, all BioMed Central authors are now entitled
to an enhanced free version of LabArchives
<http://www.labarchives.com/bmc/> . This 'BioMed Central Edition' of the
software offers additional storage capacity compared to the standard
free edition (100MB), integrated manuscript submission to BioMed Central
journals, along with open data publishing features. These include the
ability to assign DOIs to published datasets and the use of the CC0
waiver for published data.
