  Project Manager for the European OpenAIRE2020 project (E14 TV-L,
  part-time, term contract)

The Göttingen State and University Library (SUB Göttingen) is engaged in 
several national and international projects on the development of 
infrastructures and services for electronic publishing and the 
implementation of Open Access. In this context, the European project 
"OpenAIRE2020 -- Open Access Infrastructure for Research in Europe 
towards 2020" is seeking a

*Project Manager*

for supporting the forthcoming OpenAIRE2020 project. This post is 
offered with immediate effect as a part-time position (currently 29,85 
hrs/week) on a one year term contract, with potential for renewal for 
the project period (overall 3,5 years). Salary is expected to be ca. EUR 
45.000 p.a. (pro rata, depending on experience; German salary schema for 
public employees, TV-L E14).

Responsibilities are as follows:

  * manage a substantial contribution to the project (including leading
    one work package and contributing to others), working closely with
    the scientific, technical and administrative coordinators of the
    project,
  * coordinate the effective collaboration of all partners contributing
    to Scholarly Communication R&D work package,
  * contribute to the set-up of the post-grant Gold Open Access pilot,
    i.e. the management of publication costs incurred after the end of
    FP7 funding,
  * manage the project's Advisory Board,
  * contribute to the exploitation and sustainability work of the
    project, in particular alignment with the human support network,
  * contribute to the development and roll-out of advocacy and training
    programmes linking the Open Access and repository community to data
    archives, research data management, scientific publishers and other
    stakeholders,
  * align with ongoing disciplinary and research data initiatives,
    promote and disseminate project results and studies with regards to
    researchers' practices, licensing and sustainability issues.

You will need:

  * a Master's degree
  * excellent knowledge of digital information management, preferably in
    the area of Open Access, repository infrastructures and services and
    research data, management of publication funds and licensing,
  * previous project management experience including the delivery of
    high-profile, multi-agency projects
  * good knowledge of computer science and / or copyrights are important
    assets
  * excellent communication and organisational skills with a proven
    ability to work with a wide range of internal and external contacts
    and stakeholders
  * team spirit, curiosity, dynamism and sense of initiative
  * fluent in English (spoken & written), German would be an asset but
    is not required.

This position offers you an interesting and varied work within a dynamic 
international team in a pleasant working atmosphere. The post will 
involve a certain amount of travel both within Europe and internationally.

OpenAIRE2020 represents a pivotal phase in the long-term effort to 
implement and strengthen the impact of the Open Access (OA) policies of 
the European Commission (EC), building on the achievements of the 
OpenAIRE projects. OpenAIRE2020 will expand and leverage its focus from 
(1) the agents and resources of scholarly communication toworkflows and 
processes, (2) from publications to data, software, and other research 
outputs, and the links between them, and (3) strengthen the relationship 
of European OA infrastructures with other regions of the world, in 
particular Latin Americaand the U.S. OpenAIRE2020 represents the third 
funding phase of OpenAIRE and SUB Göttingen acts as the scientific 
coordinator.

In many areas of the University of Göttingen, women are 
underrepresented. Therefore, applications from women are especially 
appreciated and will be treated preferentially in domains where women 
are particularly underrepresented, if the appropriate qualification 
profile is met and legal constraints permit. In case of equal 
qualifications, disabled persons are given preference.
