At this year's Science Festival, put your skills and experience to work on
a real development challenge:
Innovation and Development HACKATHON
At the Innovation and Development Hackathon, enterprising students and
professionals will work in teams to find new approaches to real development
challenges. As part of the Humanitarian Centre’s Food Security Year, this
year’s hackathon will feature challenges related to food security.
There is still time to register for a challenge! If you would like to be a
part of the innovation process and a multidisciplinary team, if you would
like to work with a mentor from a charity, company or start-up on a project
that will impact poverty and hunger, please register to participate in the
hackathon at: http://innovationhackathon.eventbrite.com. You'll be able to
pick your preferred challenge starting Monday 11th March.
The challenges kick off on Saturday 16 March, 1-4pm, Department of
Engineering, University of Cambridge, when you'll meet your team and your
mentor--and start innovating!
If you don't want to participate in the challenge, you can still join us
for the hackathon finale and prize reception on Saturday 23 March, 5-7pm,
Pitt Building, University of Cambridge. All teams will pitch their ideas to
a panel of entrepreneurs and development specialists--and the crowd will
vote too! The team with the most innovative, viable idea will take home a
prize. Two of the ideas from last year’s hackathon are already in prototype
phase.
