International and Middle East Conference on Sustainability and Human Development (iMESH 2013) to be held in Abu Dhabi,UAE  April 28th 2013.

Kindly consider submitting papers to iMESH 2013, and please note that the Journal of Environmental Economics has agreed to offer participants of IMESH 2013 the opportunity to publish their work in a special issue devoted to the conference – scheduled for July/August 2013. All registered participants at the conference will be invited to revise and re-submit their papers for inclusion in the journal special issue.

CALL FOR PAPERS/PARTICIPATION

The call for papers/participation is open and we invite researchers and practitioners to submit original work for presentation at the International and Middle East Conference on Sustainability and Human Development 2013 (iMESH 2013), Abu Dhabi, UAE.

Scholars are encouraged to submit theoretical, empirical and practice oriented papers on the themes of the conference. We welcome high quality submissions in any of the cognate areas listed below in an international context, though we are particularly seeking work conducted in the context of the Middle East region, with potential application to policy for improving the quality of life for citizens. The main criteria for acceptance are originality, relevance and scientific merit.

The chair invites original high quality contributions in the following broad thematic areas:

Sustainability
Diversity
Well-being

In addition, the chair invites submissions in other relevant fields, which will be considered for inclusion at the discretion of the reviewers and the programme committee. Researchers working in the area of management, education and technology are welcome to participate, though submissions should demonstrate a connection to at least one of the broad themes. CONFERENCE AIMS
In this the inaugural conference organized under the auspices of the Ithmaar research and consultancy group, we aim to provide the leading forum for debate on issues of importance to the Middle East region. Through a structured programme of research presentations, seminars, workshops, panel discussions, posters, demonstrations and exhibition, it is intended that participants will gain new insights, knowledge and competencies of relevance to the betterment of life for the peoples of the Gulf and the wider Middle East. Scholars and policy makers will have the opportunity to engage in discussion on the pressing problems facing the long-term viability and sustainability of the region, including considerations for diversity and well-being of local communities in reaction to the challenges posed by growing globalization and development.
