Dear All,

Those of you who came to 'Cleanweb Wild: Biodiversity and the Web'<https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLUPaWd5mPJEFNp-vUhZVpz5ooAbnLY48u> last year will recall that we've been working hard to create an open, collaborative, community of practice for conservation technology.

WILDLABS.NET<https://www.wildlabs.net/> is embedded within the work of United for Wildlife<http://www.unitedforwildlife.org/#!/> - an unprecedented collaboration between 7 of the world's most influential conservation organisations and the Royal Foundation of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry.

The WILDLABS.NET<https://www.wildlabs.net/> community is for conservationists, engineers, data scientists, hackers, makers and innovators from many disciplines to come together and co-create new solutions to pressing biodiversity conservation challenges.

We publicly launched last month at National Geographic in Washington DC at the WWF Fuller Symposium on conservation technology, 'Wired in the Wild'<wired-in-the-wild-can-technology-save-the-planet>. With special interest groups on a range of different technologies (from UAV's to eDNA<https://www.wildlabs.net/resources/thought-pieces/what-edna>) and significant conservation challenges (such as Human Wildlife Conflict<https://www.wildlabs.net/resources/thought-pieces/how-can-technology-reduce-human-wildlife-conflict> or Illegal Wildlife Trade<https://www.wildlabs.net/resources/thought-pieces/technology-combat-illegal-wildlife-trade>) there should be something of interest for everyone.

Please regard this as an open invitation to join the WILDLABS.NET<https://www.wildlabs.net/> community and get involved with co-creating technology enabled solutions to some of the greatest challenges facing our natural world today.

Warmest regards,

The WILDLABS.NET team

Gavin Shelton
