[open-sustainability] Open sourcing the new Tesla PowerWall and gigafactory patents

Elon Musk does it again. Having open-sourced the Tesla electric car patents last year, he is now opening up the designs to the new Tesla battery systems, and just as importantly the designs of the first battery Gigafactory which he intends to reproduce around the world. As I understand it, the open source strategy accelerates the development of the whole new industry, disrupting the existing “regimes", which in turn benefits the market leader Tesla. Perhaps this is the leading example of an open business.
