By the way, I forgot to mention that we have published an annual report of what has happened in the area of OpenGLAM in Switzerland over the last year: http://glam.opendata.ch/

Cheers,
Beat

Dear all,

Some further topics to talk about on Thursday:

- How do we want to develop as a working group? - Should we try to get more countries on board? How do we scale? How is the OpenGLAM working group supposed to look in 3 years from now? What is its mission and how does it fulfill it? (it would be great if we could somehow align the survey project with the working group's mission and plans for the future; this shouldn't be too difficult, but we should talk about how to get about it)

- Real-life meetings and conferences in 2014: Can we make a list of conferences which some of us will attend and where we could meet as a group? And possibly contribute to OpenGLAM-related sessions?

o Wikimedia Conference, Berlin, 10-13 April 2014 (would only make sense if we decided to seriously consider the idea of becoming a thematic organization within the Wikimedia Movement) (https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Wikimedia_Conference_2014)

o Wikimedia Hackathon, Zürich, 23-25 May 2014 (we could make sure that there are some GLAM related activities)

o OK Festival, Berlin, 15-18 July 2014

o Wikimania, London, 6-10 August 2014

- There are discussions in Switzerland about setting up an Open Cultural Data Portal (in parallel to the already existing Open Government Data Portal). - Does that make sense? Are there any similar experiences in other countries? How should that portal interact with Europeana?

Cheers,
Beat

Dear all,

Thanks for filling in the Doodle.
It looks like next Thursday at 18:00 (CET) is our best option. See http://www.worldtimebuddy.com/?pl=1&lid=658225,2759794,2643743,5391959&h=658225 for your local time.

I will circulate a Hangout link 5 min before we start. A few things I would like to talk about is the Wellcome Library CC-BY announcement and how to respond (Is CC-BY a worthy compromise for PD material), do we need an official statement/policy paper? and an update about the Benchmark survey. If you have other things you would like to talk about, please let me know!

Looking forward speaking to you!

Kind regards,

Joris
