Good afternoon all,
Yesterday, a live online debate "Ebola: When will it end?" was hosted at
trust.org and the discussion thread can be found here:
(http://www.trust.org/spotlight/ebola-when-will-it-end/?tab=liveblog)
There was also an article on The Guardian website which detailed a £6.5m
emergency Ebola research initiative (co-funded by the Wellcome Trust),
which was announced by the UK's international development secretary,
Justine Greening.
(http://www.theguardian.com/politics/2014/aug/20/uk-ebola-emergency-research
)
I found a quote from this article, from Val Snewin of the Wellcome Trust, to
be especially pertinent:
"There's an urgency to this. We are not an emergency team, but what we can
do is mobilise research. Unless someone is willing to commit to research
you cannot learn to improve things either later in this outbreak or the
next one."
Kind Regards
Alice
