[OpenSpending] We're hiring

Hi Lucy,
We emailed each other about continuing a discussion on US involvement after
Helsinki.
Here I am again and I guess it's time to converse further.
To recap:
1) US chapters appear to have difficulty based on the member response
through the online group setups okfn employs. 1 or 2 participants in each
of about 6 localized areas, no take off apparent. I tried joining each of
them from a distant, and never got a response, so I guess without interest
from others in their areas the initiators backed off.
2) Use of that organizational setup website was a bit tricky.
3) Perhaps a group of individuals operating online and across the US rather
than in one area could serve as a catalyst for more US participation.
4) I purchased a url which can be used to support a blog and community
support for a US effort: wheredoesthemoneygo.org

Not sure where to proceed from here. I'm basically interested in gathering
together in discussion groups those in the US who are interested and wish
to participate. It would be helpful in my case if someone could authorize
my joining the LinkedIn OKFN group (whoever is managing that link does not
seem to be very active as I've had a pending request to join for several
weeks now). I could use LinkedIn and my connections through that social
network to build support for a US chapter and initiate it's organizational
activities. Any help or advice would be appreciated.

Thanks, Steve Adcock
