Good morning all,
A quick update: At OpenSpending, we're often contacted by journalists,
researchers and policy-makers about wanting to use spending data. Some
of the common questions we get asked are 'what data do you have?',
'how up to date is it?' and 'are there any gaps?'
Until now in the UK, it hasn't been possible to answer these questions
easily and systematically - the times we've done it before were
one-off efforts, took a long time, and the results quickly went out of
date.
Today, we're announcing a reporting tool that helps to show which
public bodies are conforming to reporting requirements, or suggestions
to publish through data.gov.uk. It also serves as a handy interface
into the data - and updates automatically.
We've put up a blog post which contains more notes to the briefing
here: http://openspending.org/blog/2012/09/13/uk25k-reporting.html
