Hi all,

In case you haven't seen it yet:

The European Commission in cooperation with Transparency International organises a conference in Brussels on the fight against fraud and corruption to EU funds on 3 December 2013 (see inviation and links below).

The focus is on EU structural funds that are co-managed with national authorities in the 28 EU member countries, and managing authorities plus anti-fraud/anti-corruption agencies will probably the main participants.

The angle of the conference is however wider and we hope to bring in as much civil society input as possible.

Among the four workshops (you can go to 2 of them), there is one on data-mining with Anders from the OKFN as a speaker and there is a second workshop organised by us (the TI EU Office) on civil society monitoring of public contracting through "Integrity Pacts".

Registration deadline is 15 November, and participation is free. Don't hesitate to get back to me if you have any questions.

Best wishes,

Ronny

Dear Madam, dear Sir,

On behalf of the European Commission and Transparency International, we
are pleased to invite you to attend the Conference on anti-fraud and
anti-corruption measures in relation to the use of European Structural
and Investment Funds which will take place in Brussels on 3 December
2013.

Corruption and fraud receive increasing public and political attention.
With the new generation of European Structural and Investment (ESI)
Funds programmes to be adopted at the beginning of 2014, the Conference
comes at a perfect time: the authorities in charge of the programmes are
asked to put more emphasis and resources on effective and proportionate
anti-fraud measures taking into account the risks identified.

The objective of this Conference is to raise awareness and propose tools
and measures which can help to identify and mitigate fraud and
corruption in relation to the use of ESI funds. The Conference will also
present several good practice examples from Member States.

For more information and details about the conference, please visit the
