Hi all,
Thanks to Victor, Mark and Rufus for joining the sprint this weekend!
Here's a bit about what we worked on.
We wrote up these notes on what questions to ask and what visualisations to
work on for tracking aid data to the Philippines:
https://docs.google.com/a/okfn.org/document/d/1yj9QZ1KdsnQc3dSTNeENgVNeZYU_gx_9wYcqlg-1jzY/edit
Mark shared his project to track IATI data:
markbrough.github.io/philippines/projects/index.html
We did a bit of light data cleaning of the commitments from the aid tracker
in the Philippines at FAiTH and added the data into OpenSpending.
Victor worked on an idea to create a Sankey diagram based on the
OpenSpending API.
The work to visualise the data is still in progress, and *you can help* by
getting in touch via the list or freenode IRC #openspending!
Based on the loaded data we've created a few built-in visualisations in
OpenSpending, which we have just shared with the FAiTH team in the
Philippines (see below):
Treemap by Donor:
https://openspending.org/faith/views/treemap-by-donor
Treemap by Conduit:
https://openspending.org/faith/views/treemap-by-conduit
Table by Conduit:
https://openspending.org/faith/views/table-by-conduit
Bubble Chart by Type (cash vs. non-cash):
https://openspending.org/faith/views/non-financial-vs-financial#/~/total
We hope to be able to provide some more elaborate visualisations going
forward. We would love to see you join the ongoing work.
Thanks all!
Best,
Anders
