Hi Tarik,
This is a great idea! I am thinking these examples to analyse media
finances from France and Austria:
In May, 2013 Open Knowledge Foundation, France organised an event focusing
on French media subsidies:

Michael Bauer has looked into government advertisement spending in media
outlets in Austria:
http://openspending.org/medientransparenz-at?_view=default
"Austrian Government owned Companies and Ministries need to report their
financial contributions to media companies quarterly - this is the data
they report... Find out which newspaper gets most advertising by the
government."
I am curious to know if others have examples to share?
Best,
Anders
