Dear list members,
We are currently in the process of organizing a general conference on
the Public Domain. We still need to establish the location where the
conference will take place, but before doing so, we would like to make
sure that the date suits everyone. We were thinking about end of May /
beginning of June. That would be great if you could let me know
whether the date is convenient for you, or please feel free to suggest
any other date.
In addition, we were thinking about organizing the conference as a dual-event:
- A practical workshop on the first day, in order to introduce
everyone to work on the Public Domain Calculators and other projects.
- A more academic conference on the following days in order to
address the legal, social and economic aspects of the Public Domain.
- The conference could end in a general discussion wrapping up
all the ideas which have been discussed so far, in an attempt to come
up with a practical 'course of action' to look at how we can implement
these ideas.
I would like to know what do you think about that, and if you have any
request or suggestion for any specific topic would you like to be
addressed at the conference.
Also, let me know if you have anyone in mind (yourself included) that
you think should be invited as a guest speaker to present a particular
project or idea at the conference.
Thanks,
Primavera
