[pd-discuss] Monthly virtual meetings on publicdomaincalculators / public domain works

Dear all,
On behalf of IVIR I'm afraid I have to report that installing IRC
clients is not possible at the moment on the University of Amsterdam's
system. No IRC client has currently been packaged for the University,
meaning that permission to run the programme on our PCs can only be
obtained upon payment of a significant fee. As a result unfortunately
neither Lucie nor myself will be able to take part in the virtual
meeting at 16:30h.
This will also probably influence our ability to take part in future
meetings as well, if they are to take place on the IRC channel....
Other programmes, notably skype, are accessible on the University's
networks, if that helps at all....
Sorry for the late notice, but it was only earlier to today that we
realised the meeting would take place on the OKFN IRC channel and then
found out about the incompatibility.
Enjoy the meeting and best wishes,
Christina

Hi everyone,
Have we decided upon a technology to use today
for our first (bi)-monthly virtual meetings?

Dear all,
I have several meetings planned on
January 26th but I might even make it at that time. Let's keep fingers
crossed!
Otherwise a bi-monthly meeting sounds
more reasonable to me than a monthly one - so I applaud this change in
the plan!
Will it be a Skype meeting? Or do you
propose another technology?
Best regards,
Lucie

Great scheduled this for every two
months on fourth Tuesday at 1630
GMT - starting with 26th January. Lets
discuss details of further
meetings then!

Just to let everyone know, we are going
to start the ball rolling with
the OKF Working Group on the Public
Domain:
http://wiki.okfn.org/wg/publicdomain
Part of this will be having monthly
meetings to coordinate activities,
including public domain calculators,
publicdomainworks.net <http://publicdomainworks.net/> and so on.
We are currently looking at having these
at 1630 GMT / 1730 CET on the
fourth Tuesday of every month. Is this
generally an alright time? If
this is difficult for many people, we
can look to find another slot
that works...
This sounds great. My only suggestion is
that we start off with
bi-monthly (once every two months) or
even tri-monthly meetings. One a
month might be a bit steep given people
schedules and if turns out not
to be enough we can always up the pace!
Rufus
Hence we hope the first meeting will
take place on 26th January at 1630 GMT!
I've got it scheduled!
