zotero.org
it runs on windows and osx. it manages resources and metainformation. you
can add new sources easily with one click for example from firefox (as soon
as you are on amazon, google scholar or any page that contains a pdf or
bibliography information)
zotero will create bib entries if you work with latex or you can add your
sources from within ms word (or open office) and create a bibliography
inside your document. it supports all kinds of formats for your sources.
