[wsfii-discuss] ANNOUNCE: Design the Official Wireless Internet Access Icon

I absolutely agree in the convenience on any initiative which might help
identifying hotspots or creating common identities to tie things between
the world diversity.

But just one question, maybe mediatized because of some recent
experiences we had here: What this icon stands for? If it's simply about
wireless access, don't we have already the classic "Wifi" logo? (
http://www.blogcadre.com/files/images/wifi_logo_0.gif )

If wants identify something more specific, i.e. things like neutral,
open, citizen or community driven, free networks, whatever variants,
don't we have to define first some very basics? Maybe I'm too much
suspicious, but I'm afraid for the risk of having someone without ethics
trying to misuse this identity, all we know that there are still people
homesick for looking hypes just like the past decade and hungry for
eating instruments like this one.

Regards,
Ramon.
