I'm just thrilled to announce officially that the first translation of 
the WNDW is now available. The Spanish version was announced by Rob on 
its wndw.net site during the weekend, and I'm really glad that we were 
able to do it! :) Please help us re-distribute this widely. The Spanish 
press release follows the English one.

The WNDW production team is pleased to announce the release of "Redes
Inalámbricas en los Países en Desarrollo", the Spanish translation of
"Wireless Networking in the Developing World". This work is available
thanks to the tireless effort of individuals from all over the world.
The Spanish edition is the first of several translations planned for
release in the near future.

The book covers topics from basic radio physics and network design to
equipment and troubleshooting. It was written and reviewed by a team of
experts in the field of long distance wireless networking in urban,
rural, and remote areas. The book is intended to be a comprehensive
resource for technologists in the developing world, providing the
information that they need to build real networks. By bringing this
knowledge to the outer edges of the Internet, we hope to help jumpstart
the construction of vital network infrastructure.

The book is available under a Creative Commons license, meaning that it
is free to download, print and modify, even for a profit, as long as
proper credit is given and any modifications or copies made are shared
under the same terms. It is available for download in PDF and HTML
format from http://wndw.net/. Printed and bound copies are also
available for the cost of printing.

de la iniciativa WNDW nos he enviado hoy. El equipo de producción de la
iniciativa WNDW se complace en anunciar el libro "Redes Inalámbricas en
los Países en Desarrollo", la traducción al castellano del libro
"Wireless Networking in the Developing World". Este trabajo está
disponible gracias al incansable esfuerzo de individuos de diversos
lugares alrededor del mundo. La edición al castellano es la primera de
una serie de traducciones programadas que serán anunciadas próximamente.

El libro abarca temas que van desde la física básica de la radio y el
desarrollo de redes, hasta equipamiento y resolución de problemas. El
libro fue escrito y revisado por un grupo de expertos en el campo del
las comunicaciones inalámbricas de larga distancia en zonas urbanas y
rurales, así como en áreas remotas. El libro pretende ser un recurso
integral para técnicos de los países en desarrollo, suministrando la
información que necesitan para construir redes reales. Al entregar este
conocimiento a quienes se conectan desde las periferias de la Internet,
esperamos ayudarles para que puedan dar el salto que se requiere para
empezar a desarrollar la vital infraestructura de redes.

Este libro está disponible bajo una licencia Creative Commons, lo que
significa que puede descargarse, imprimirse y modificarse libremente,
inclusive con fines comerciales, siempre y cuando se otorgue el
