Dear All

The WsfiiCalendar has just been updated with an 
exiting new WSFII event i Quito, Ecuador, hosted 
togetter with WALC2006.

- What: WALC is a training event, developed every 
year in the Latin America region since 1998 with 
the coordination of Fundación EsLaRed and support 
from different agencies, organizations and 
individuals. The WALC 2006 training program 
covers 8 different technical tracks (wireless 
networks; web dev with open source; content dev 
and production; network management; IP telephony; 
security; GIS with open source; IPv6) and 1 track 
devoted to the analysis of the relationship with 
ICTs and society. A new format for the Internet 
and Society track will allow participants to any 
of the technical training tracks to participate 
in daily sessions which will be addressing key 
issues related to ICTs for development. These 
additional sessions will take place every day, as 
discussion panels. The program for the sessions
