I don't want to use too much of wsfii discussion space but I wanted to
respond to Matthew with a maybe...eventually.

I plan to engage the principles of the Digital Village Fund (Gary Bolles
in particular) http://www.xigi.net/index.php?en=585 to find out what the
possibilities are for funding a social enterprise venture when/if the
funds from this fund do become available to start developing several
prototype projects including at least one in Africa to start and then
consider how to scale out a business model to fund other projects.

OVF's focus is currently on Africa but I think we could consider this as
a wsfii initiative to build network collective intelligence and capacity
with the goal of moving the whole network to self-funding status within
say 3-5 years.

Jeff

Does anyone know of any endownment or trust funds designed to support
Community Networking (wireless/fibre) along with the skills
