Edge devices: yes, there are a large number of
choices. IMHO, there is little point in looking at the
advantages of one or other neat or desirable feature.
Each solution is almost certain to have one or other
irritant or failing for the particular, immediately
identifiable, need. 

However, given the fact that change is/will be an
inevitable part of the mix, choosing a non-flexible
solution will quite quickly impact the sustainability
of the venture, making more investments necessary just
to keep the same level of services going.
