Hi Antti,
Thanks for the clarification. I was just worried that people might get the impression this is an international event on the scale of the open data day last year. I think its important to make communicate clear what it is and what to expect.
So lets keep the idea of small local preparatory events and having the big clean later this year, than properly announced and well prepared. Thanks.
Regards
Daniel

I am just a little bit concerned to announce it as a "major global hackathon" because this might make people think about massive evolvement and responding results and so might "burn" our efforts for further events. My proposal is to announce it asap publicly on the OKFN Blog (and hopefully elsewhere) but to make a clear point that this is *not* the major big big clean, but rather a first round of local and mostly small hacking events*2.
> Who has talked about announcing this one as a major global hackathon? The global event will follow, maybe in May, this is just local preparatory twin-event. I will put my effort in getting people to Jyväskylä event and making it well. For that reason I will update some English text to the bigclean-site, but I don't really feel like actually putting it to the OKFN blog beforahand...
