I don't speak a word of Italian, but my two cents, in English I think
"producer" means something slightly different from "publisher" in this
context, producer means someone who produced or created something,
whereas as a publisher is just someone who published it, does not
necessarily imply that they created (like a publisher of a book).

I think either "Contributor" or "Editor" (in English) would work fine in
this context.

A 'Related Item' in CKAN 1.8 can be either featured or not featured, I
believe it means 'featured' in the same sense as "Today's featured
article" on wikipedia, maybe look at what Italian wikipedia calls it.

In CKAN 1.8 users can "follow" other users or datasets, it's like
following something on GitHub or Twitter etc. There's a user dashboard
where you can see all the recent activities from people/datasets that
you're following. (Similar features are sometimes called "subscribe" or
"watch").

> application (is it software program - an App - or a request)?

This particular one is a software program/app, elsewhere there's another
string "Your application has been submitted" that one is a request of
course.

This means apply as in to apply for membership of an organization.

> Submission (application/request submission or dataset submission?)

I think you must be talking about the string "There was a problem with
your submission, please correct it and try again", in this case it means
submission as in submitting a form in order to apply for membership of
an organization.

I can see that we ckan devs should be inserting more hints for
translators with our strings, I'm afraid we don't make it as easy for
translators as we could do.
