Has anyone worked with this data/api?

I'm a healthcare data jack-of-all-trades/master-of-none with good 
understanding of IT, clinical and business arenas. I've actually been 
able to set-up an ubuntu instance and load CKAN on an Amazon EC2 
account! (Que fanfare!)

Anyone out there want to help me actually load some of this HHS data? 

How does one execute code as "root" if they can only log-in as "ubuntu"?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. And, for what it's worth, which 
is not much right now, I'm looking start a cloud-based healthcare data 
operations/governance/analytics a-a-S startup, so I'll need developers 
at some point. 

Networking is king.
