The DataProxy is an external service (I think is hosted in
jsonpdataproxy.appspot.com) so the server where your data is hosted
(myIP) should be accessible from the internet. Perhaps when you try it
from Firefox or the command line the myIP is accessible because you
are on your own network? I'm not sure this is relevant, but dataproxy
is quite hard to debug.

Perhaps you should consider having a look at the datastore and
datastorer, which will give a more robust backend.
