Michael,

Yes, our puppet module is more of a system, and there are parts which
might seem specific to data.gov.uk, however there are plenty of
governments who do want many of these extras.

We feel by including CKAN extensions for QA, harvesting etc, and the
cron jobs to support them, plus all the system packages install, plus
a UI which includes blogs, apps etc, plus sensible caching setup, it
makes for a CKAN install that is 'batteries included'. Of course any
that take it would want to change the title from 'data.gov.uk' and put
their own stamp on the main template, maybe add/remove some of the
pages of the site, but many sites would find it a better start-point
than the basic CKAN install.

However I think it is also very attractive to start from the basic
CKAN install that you've provided, so I'm pleased to see you've made
it available in that general form.

David
