[ckan-dev] Best practice for harvester error mails?

Hi there,
we currently setup a CKAN instance with several harvesters. Our customer
does not want to check each one of them manually by going to the "/harvest"
page to check if there is a problem.
Is there a best practice to send harvester errors by mail? If so how?
Should we configure a SMTPHandler for the pylons log? Would be great if you
could share your configuration or setup.
