[ckan-dev] ckanext-harvest for /data.json datasets

Is there a way to use the ckanext-harvest extension to harvest /data.json
sources?  This extension seems to just harvest datasets from ckan
instances, however, I'm trying to find a solution that can harvest
data.json files published by other sites.  I saw that there is a
ckanext-datajson plugin, however, I can't get it to work.  I was hoping the
ckanext-harvest works by itself.
