I'll see if I can't bundle the links for our past mapwarper work.

But if your interested in geoserver, why not just go with http://geonode.org.
As it is just Geoserver with a Django UI that provides a way to offer user
uploads of geotiffs (and shapefiles) through a Web UI and as it is already
packaged with pyCSW... all you'd need is CKAN geoharvester to point at the
CSW endpoint to sync the records...
