It is great, I didn't believe it was an issue with CKAN but I have to convince the IT support here since they are in charge of the proxy configuration.
I will read a bit more about the "keep alive" issue you found out and go back to IT, hopefully it gets fixed :)

Hey Lucia,

Looks like your proxy is miss-configured. Your problem is keep-alive connections (Connection: Keep-Alive in the headers) which your browser will try to use by default. wget works for you since it's sending Connection: Close. It's not CKAN....probably :)

Debugging this fully isn't possible without having access to it, but that gives you something to look at.

The server is sitting behind a firewall but it can be accessed through a proxy. From inside the firewall, all files can be downloaded from the browser without any issue. 

Does anyone have an idea of what can be going on?
