[ckan-dev] Successor for Data Explorer (recline_view)?

Hi all,

I have read in http://docs.ckan.org/en/latest/maintaining/data-viewer.html#data-explorer that the recline_view(s) are based on DataProxy but "Support for the DataProxy will be dropped on future CKAN releases".
I also see in my Apache logs the following message:
WARNI [ckan.lib.maintain] Function _resource_preview() in module ckan.controllers.package has been deprecated and will be removed in a later release of ckan. Resource preview is deprecated. Please use the new resource views

I have checked datatables, but it only works with datastore resources, not remote URLs :-(

Now, what are the recommended extensions for viewing local and remote tabular data?
