[ckan-discuss] Faceted Browsing

Hi all, 

a side product of the current work on the IATI registry is a very simple implementation [1] of faceted browsing based on Solr. This is potentially very useful but implementing it properly using postgres would be a major pain. This leaves us with a few options [2]: 

1. Implement facets on all fields, probably quite complicated.
2. Only allow Package attributes as facets
3. Disable facets when using SQL for search
4. Don't introduce facets to CKAN

Which would you prefer?
