Just drawing attention to

I've come across a module called ll.url which will "fix" broken
urls (and emit a warning in the logs) I think it would be better
to do this on the input side rather than the output side as are
doing now.

Still need proper validation of dates though. For data.gov.uk
purposes I've just stripped out the datatypes for now but that's
rather a kludge.
