David Flanders from JISC asked me to forward this to relevant OKF lists.
He said that he would be particularly interested in any experiences
from OKF community - particularly regarding CKAN, or other open tools
that could be of value in higher education teaching or research.

UKOLN are putting out a call for html5 case studies that illustrate
how html5 can enhance the sorts of digital content we use in further
and higher education
http://www.ukoln.ac.uk/web-focus/calls/call-201107/
£5,000 per case study - submit your proposal by 18th July. See link
above for details
Summary:
The proposals should address new features of the emerging HTML5
standards (e.g. canvas; geo-location; local storage; video; form fill;
etc.) or related standards which form part of the W3C's Open Web
Platform such as the CSS, DOM, MathML, etc.
Application areas might include, but are not restricted to benefits to
institutional Web site (e.g. SEO benefits or enriched functionality);
teaching and learning applications (course lectures delivered via
video, audio, etc.; lab notebooks); research applications (e.g.
articles, series, journals; books; table of contents; bibliography;
citation); multi-channel access; etc.
The proposals should also describe how the work was implemented and
the ways in which the new functionality was (or could be) implemented
in a real-world context of legacy browsers; possible lack of
development tools; etc.
Hope this is of interest.
Kind Regards,
David
