[ckan-discuss] Include datasets from sub-publishers

Hi Peder,

On data.gov.uk we use a branch from CKAN 1.7.1 (for now) that includes a very
early version of the organisations code. The publishers (organisations) on
data.gov.uk are hierarchical, so when searching for datasets, you can either
search just the current publisher, or the current publisher and all of the
child publishers. I'm not aware of whether this specific feature is in 2.0, but
it wouldn't be too hard to implement it I think, although you'd need to be
careful that it doesn't hit the database a lot in deep or broad trees.

I notice that data.gov.uk only has a few hundred, which makes sense. Seems to me that pulling in an entire national geospatial collection war not the original intent of ckan, but rather to highlight those that may be useful to the public. (?)
