[ckan-discuss] CKAN support for variable-level metadata

Hi Tim,

I'm not sure that's exactly what you mean, but CKAN's default metadata
schema can be expanded with arbitrary key/value pairs attached to a dataset
that can be customized depending on the user needs.
This would be indeed implemented from an extension, so you could implement
any kind of validation that you need over those extra fields (eg values
part of a vocabulary)
