[CKAN-support] 5xx error investigation

Hi Support
I've being having some issues with Smart Services Queensland's CKAN instances not being available. On Friday morning the instances were unavailable until I rebooted and this morning some monitoring that I setup revealed timeouts and 5xx errors.
Does anyone know how I might be able to troubleshoot this kind of issue? E.g. if it's a mod_wsgi issue, how would I find evidence?
I've been in contact with the host provider, Rackspace, it investiage and they can't find anything wrong architecture-wise or excessive traffic.
