Hi Nigel,
I have approval from Aaron to go ahead with the vagrant script if you think it will be useful in assisting us. It maybe something that you can use for supporting other users as well.

Can you let me know if thats ok?

I am on my cell right now so I will answer your questions when i get back into the office later today.

Thanks

Hi Michael,

Please ensure you have support at ckan.org<mailto:support at ckan.org> in CC all the time. This lets someone else can takeover from me if I'm unavailable and they have all the information.

Thank you for the detailed notes. That's helping quite a bit. I need a bit of information to debug what is causing your issues.

* You've mentioned CKAN 2.0 in the notes. Is that the version you used before the upgrade?
* Can you tell me please also tell me what's the value of __version__ in /usr/lib/ckan/default/src/ckan/ckan/__init__.py?
* The list of files in /etc/nginx/config.d/ and /etc/nginx/sites-enabled.

Hi Nigel,
Should I be emailing you directory or should I email support at ckan.org<mailto:support at ckan.org>?

As for how we are installing ckan, I have created a document that details the ckan puppet module (see attached). Please let me know if you need help with this.

Also, I can create a vagrant project that creates a vm ( in virtualbox) that uses puppet (so automatically does all of this). It will take me some time to do this, but it maybe a good way for us to proceed with diagnosing problems. Note, Aaron would need to approve this work too.

Regards

Hi Michael and Aaron,

Gavin tells me you've requested support for the problems you've been having. I'd be happy to work with you in figuring out the problems and fixing them. Michael will be familiar with my attempts at diagnosing/debugging the problems on the ckan-dev list. In the future, I'd recommend you request support by directly emailing support at ckan.org<mailto:support at ckan.org>.

Can you tell me what specific version of CKAN you were originally using (link to package would help too) and what version of CKAN you upgraded to (again, link to package will help). I want to rule out a problem with the package or package upgrade first.

I'm not familiar enough with puppet to read the config that you've sent us. If you can explain what it does, I can help confirm whether there's anything that it does that could be causing problems.
