[CKAN-support] search-index rebuild after resource deletion

I'm responding to a support request for data.qld.gov.au regarding the rebuilding of search index.

This is the scenario...

A publisher removed a resource which was a PDF. The search results still show that the Dataset from which the resource was deleted, still contains a PDF even after several days.

The specific Dataset is titled: "Queendland Public Service - workforce quarterly profile". You can see here that it lists 'PDF' as one of the resource type even though the PDF resource has been deleted.

Apart from manually reindexing for this dataset using,
paster --plugin=ckan search-index rebuild <dataset name> --config=/etc/ckan/std/std.ini
or doing a manual refresh of the entire site, is there something that I can do to ensure that the search-index is up-to-date?

Or, should the search-index have picked up on this?
