[ddj] First DATAFEST in Argentina (and Latam) hosted by LA NACION Data and Universidad Austral Data mining Masters Degree

Hi DDJers: just sharing FYI that we are organizing the first Datafest in Argentina (and Latin America): for Opening and Mining Public Data in Nov 2 and 3 , partnering with Universidad Austral Masters in Data Mining and School of Journalism and supported by Knight Foundation, Google and International Center for Journalists.
The aim is to extract knowledge and open data with mini teams that will focus in one topic, of at least 3 profiles: 1. Expert or specialized Journalist 1. Designer or front end programmer 1. Data analyst or data miner. We expect a crowd of 120 - 160 in total .
We will work in two levels of complexity depending on the "state of data".
The first level will be :
a) mine datasets that we have already converted or that are ready to work with in this topics:
1. Open Spending (with focus con Govs Purchases and Licitations (from unstructured data )
2. Energy and fuel
3. Justice : analysis
4. Environmental: with focus on garbage analysis: composition and projections, but open to other topics.
5. Poverty : shanty towns analysis and habitational deficit in Argentina

b) Open Data or Build action plans for data that is published but not in open formats:
1. Open spending: budget Monitoring (national level).
2. Legislative power activity analysis and monitoring
3. Transportation
4. Public Health system in Buenos Aires
