Dear all,

I would be interested to know whether you have had any updates regarding
the Arabic translation of the Data Journalism Handbook. Nearly a year ago,
Al-Jazeera journalist has spoken out as taking the lead on this translation
(see
http://datadrivenjournalism.net/news_and_analysis/Al_Jazeera_EJC_to_Translate_The_Data_Journalism_Handbook_into_Arabic<https://www.linkedin.com/redirect?url=http%3A%2F%2Fdatadrivenjournalism%2Enet%2Fnews_and_analysis%2FAl_Jazeera_EJC_to_Translate_The_Data_Journalism_Handbook_into_Arabic&urlhash=IPoE&_t=tracking_disc>
).

Yet, there is no update whatsoever available anywhere on the interwebs. I
had reached out to the person asking for information on progress, but he
hasn't responded (this was a week ago).

As a coordinator of the OpenMENA community (http://mena.okfn.org), there
has been quite some interest into getting the Handbook translated and we
had started a project on Transifex. The whole is stalled for now however as
it would be silly to redo already completed work -- assuming the Al-Jazeera
people have made some progress.

I'd thus very much appreciate any hint, insight, update, etc. on this.
Thanks!

Rayna
