[ddj] Snowfall-esque, long-form, immersive journalism tools and libraries

Hi All,

I'm interested in exploring the best *code* *libraries*, *tools *and
*services* out there for immersive, long-form, multimedia journalism in the
same vein as the famous New York Times Snowfall example:

http://www.nytimes.com/projects/2012/snow-fall/#/?part=tunnel-creek

I've been shown a useful blog post that has some good pointers, but I'm
sure it's missing some things:

http://www.journalism.co.uk/news/9-tools-for-journalists-to-produce-immersive-stories/s2/a554425/

I'm interested in hearing about off-the-shelf templates and services as
well as code libraries and other things more aimed at developers.

Sam
