Dear All,  Please find some notes from the GoogleHangout today (also
whiteboard notes attached).  Please do add your own commentary as you see
fit.

Actions:

   - #action Rhys to talk with Anne to agree use of SteveB's time for
   building CKAN in Cloud
   - #action Flanders to contact Intersect/QCIF to see if their is a
   participating developer for helping build CKAN in the Cloud? <-- Rhys to
   get political agreement.
   - #action SteveA to pass sample sync dataset to Alex as demo
   - #action DFF to set up meeting with SteveA and Alex to discuss API
   ingest process and sample data sets to launch with.
   - #action DFF to work with developers
   - #action Mat to provide some exemplar tabular datasets from IVEC and
   liaise with Alex to see how best to slot them into CKAN.

Highlights from the Notes:

   1. Rhys went through the importance of having a federated instance of
   CKAN that the participating AeROs (V3, Intersect, QCIF, IVEC, ESRA) can
   have as a means of providing a real service back to their institutions, and
   business model supporting that.
   2. Pia Waugh (Director of Data.Gov.Au walked us through some pain points
   we will need to face in getting CKAN launched and features added.
   3. SteveA discussed issues around large datasets (a la syncrotron) and
   referencing data via CKAN to big data (or rather more importantly the tools
   atop the data)
   4. Alex highlighted the importance of having visualisations that demo
   the data as a wall of metadata text does not attract users or encourage
   reuse.  VisualData is better than MetaData.
   5. I spoke with Mat later on and IVEC will be helping provide some
   datasets and also looking into what the full corpus of Open Data is as
   published on RDA.
