Hi all,

had a call with Peter Rukavina who has been working on the data migration of
the current platform into the new CMS.

They have created a way of exporting/importing everything. This is a set of
scripts that they can run at any time.
All is now available in a sandbox environment for me to check and see.
There was a problem with items containing embedded media from third parties
(presentations, photo's and video's). But those are only 20 postings, so
we'll solve those by hand.
A bigger issue is that the way passwords are encrypted in ezPublish and
Drupal is different, which makes it impossible to migrate them. Every user
therefore on first login in the new environment will need to create new
passwords. Peter will provide a workflow within Drupal to deal with that.
They are now working on adding the last step of the migration, which is the
file attachments to items.

Next steps:
Me checking the sandbox environment
Me working on creating the Drupal website in terms of structure and
wireframes (as design is done by Heinze Havinga)
Peter and me working out what he can help with in Drupal, and what that
would cost (current contract is for the migration not the Drupal effort)
(Peter gave me a list of things what he can do, will see what of that we
need)
Once the Drupal set-up is to our liking we'll do the final migration to the
epsiplatform.eu servers, and after final check, make the switch.

I will devote most of my time to the website in the coming two-three weeks,
with the aim of getting things mostly done before I leave for summer
holiday.

best,

Ton
