Hi all,
Yday I was in Luxembourg (as was Sverre) for the EC's PSI Work Group
meeting. I was invited there to provide a perspective on how the open data
community sees the progress being made with regard to open PSI / data.
See http://www.slideshare.net/TonZijlstra/ec-psi-work-group-meeting for both
my slides and text.
I basically shared some observations on general patterns in the discussion
around Open PSI I noticed in the past 2 yrs.
My angle was one of constructive criticism, as the audience were the ones
actually trying to make progress.
For me as a Dutchman one statement of the Dutch representative was welcome
news. He officially announced there will be a Dutch open gov data catalogue.
That has been in the works for a while, but I was constantly advised by the
Ministry f.t. Interior to be cautious in saying it would happen. Now it has
been said in public within the EC's PSI Work Group, so that's welcome news.
We are working on ensuring the Dutch data catalog runs on CKAN (nl.ckan.net).
I've also already seen previews of how it would look as a website (under
embargo), which is basically a searchable list of pointers within the
http://overheid.nl website.
best, have a great weekend (it seems summer is finally upon us)
